Change your Choices

Einstein’s definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. It’s such a commonly quoted line, yet so many of us continue to vent, to whinge about results we are unhappy with whilst steadfastly refusing to acknowledge it’s our own responsibility to do something differently.

This extends to broaching and holding the difficult conversation where others are part of the results I want to change. I’m reminded of Brene Brown’s mantra that “Clear is Kind”, reminding all of us that if we truly care enough, want to be kind enough, courageously choosing to hold the difficult conversations is where it’s at. No, they don’t always yield the wonderful dream result for us, yet is not choosing to hold them related to who we wish to be?

I am who I show up as – that’s who you judge me as. My intentions you cannot see. With that in mind, I will be the person who shows up holding the difficult conversation because I care, because I will be a kind human.
